Parental engagement means communicating with parents at the setting, or via other media, to get parents involved with what's going on in the baby or child’s life and their learning environment. Parents that engage in this kind of activity find that they know more about the child during the day at the setting. They know more about the setting and the staff and there is more trust. Parents and setting staff can then work together to best support a child's early years’ experience and learning and development.
This course will detail what parental engagement is, which methods of engagement you can use, as well as the importance of communication with parents.
