Schemas are described as patterns of repeated behaviour which allow children to explore and express developing ideas and thoughts through their play and exploration.
This course provides an introduction to schema theory and explores the different types of schemas. It will support the practitioner’s understanding of children’s play and help them to identify types of schemas and look at how to plan for these to support children’s individual needs.
