Storytelling is one of the most valuable experiences we can share with our children. It is a journey that begins with sharing a book and continues into retelling our favourites, recreating experiences, making up new endings, and creating our own books. We can become animated and act stories out with the children, entering into imaginary worlds that may take us around the school grounds, down to the woods or the local park, or off to mystical worlds where anything is possible!
Stories can be told by many people about real or imaginary events and characters. They can involve props and costumes, or simply sitting down and writing the words and binding the pages ourselves. They can be told in a few minutes, or over a period of days or weeks. The opportunities are endless and limited only by our imagination!
